Ivo van Aart (1989) is a director of feature films and series.

This year, his crime comedy series BOVENSLOTERS premiered on NPO Start, for which he served as both co-creator and director. The series was met with widespread critical acclaim, receiving four-star reviews across the board.

He directed the satirical telefilm DE KUTHOER, released internationally as THE COLUMNIST in the United Kingdom and the United States. In 2026, his second telefilm GEESTIG premiered, a horror comedy for which he wrote the screenplay and directed.

His other work includes the young adult web series LOCKED OUT for broadcaster NPO3, and a trilogy for the VPRO comprising the drama series SUSPICIOUS MINDS, ZES DATES and LAYLA LEILA. 

He has also made several short films, among them the young adult film ONE OF THE BOYS and the dance film AMUSE. Beyond film, Ivo explores new media and alternative narrative forms — including the Virtual Reality experience VPRO Peepshow, created for Lowlands and the Dutch Design Week.
